BRITISH RAILWAYS IN THE 1990's A passenger view from Inverness to Georgemas Jct in 1999 On a cold 2nd February me and my friend Bob, caught the "Caledonian" Sleeper train from London Euston (21.30) to Inverness (08.37). Here we then caught the 11.05 "sprinter" class 156 to Thurso (14.45) and Wick (15.10). We stayed in Wick only to experience hurricane force winds the next day at John'O'Groats and a quick blizzard. On our return journey on 6th February we caught again a class 156 from Lairg to Inverness, where we then boarded another "Sprinter" at 10.35 for the Scottish capital of Edinburgh, arriving at 14.00. I had my faithful small hand held camera on this trip to capture some of the spectacular scenery, and put to some music (Courtesy of the YouTube audio library of course) made this rather relaxing movie. I hope you find the film to one's taste and If you enjoy the video please like and subscribe . I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually. Sit back and enjoy this latest production remembering all those now long gone Locomotive classes and other types of traction. Many thanks to all subscribers and for the likes, also to all those viewers whom over the years have kindly shown an interest in my material.
