BRITISH RAILWAYS IN THE 1990's
Settle & Carlisle Diversions on 13th March 1999
On the 13th March 1999, WCML services were being diverted over the picturesque Settle and Carlisle route. We based ourselves in Kirkby Stephen, (Myself and the much talented Master Mr Nick Winfield) who had all the locations and timings worked out in advance. Still in the late throws of Winter and very early Spring we chased between our base and Garsdale, catching most of the diverted traffic. One train in particular, was the "Deltic" hauled southbound passenger service, we witnessed crossing Dandry Mire Viaduct at Garsdale. A few freight and coal services were captured on video in the hands of class 60 locomotives, while most of the regular passenger trains were in the hands of class 47's or HST's. So sit back and enjoy the wonderful scenery and countryside that this spectacular and very popular route has to offer.

Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually. Sit back and enjoy this latest production remembering all those now long gone Locomotive classes and other types of traction.
