BRITISH RAILWAYS IN THE 1990's
Peterborough Station on 22nd May 1999
On the same day as the recently uploaded Reading video I drove up to Peterborough Station to capture on video some very special rail tours. One organised by (British Pullman) / Hertfordshire Rail Tours utilising the V.S.O.E stock and running from Bradford to London Victoria. This train was hauled by "Deltic" Locomotive D9000 "Royal Scots Grey". Also slightly before this tour, was yet another "Deltic", this time 55019 "Royal Highland Fusilier", heading the Deltic Preservation Society's Mainline Debut Tours from York to London King's Cross. Seen also in the video is an "Anglian" class 86 locomotive on a service train, sounding like a football special, heading North. Other traction witnessed, were the class 91 + class 82 DVT's and a RES class 47 plus a 58 in EWS Livery. The usual Electric Multiple Units of the day are also captured on the video, including Class 156 and 158's. This was a busy and exciting visit to the ECML on this special day, almost like returning in time when "Deltics" ran up and Down the mainline daily. If you enjoy the video please like and subscribe . I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually. Sit back and enjoy this latest production remembering all those now long gone Locomotive classes and other types of traction. Many thanks to all subscribers and for the likes, also to all those viewers whom over the years have kindly shown an interest in my material.
