കൂടൽമാണിക്യം ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ കഴകക്കാരനായി ഈഴവ ജാതിയിൽ പെട്ട വ്യക്തിയെ നിയമിച്ചതിൽ പ്രതിഷേധിച്ച് കൂടൽമാണിക്യം ദേവസ്വം ബോർഡിലെ സവർണ്ണ പുംഗവന്മാർ പണിമുടക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ആയതിനാൽ ജോലി ലഭിച്ച വ്യക്തി തൻറെ കർത്തവ്യം നിറവേറ്റാൻ ആകാതെ മാറ്റി നടത്തപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുകയാണ്. ഈ ആധുനിക യുഗത്തിലും കേരളത്തിൽ നടക്കുന്ന ഈ അയിത്താചരണ ആഭാസത്തിനെതിരെ കേരള യുക്തിവാദി സംഘം ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ മുന്നിൽ തന്നെ ധർണ സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചു.
The upper caste men of the Koodalmanikyam Devaswom Board have gone on strike in protest against the appointment of a person from the Ezhava caste as a priest in the Koodalmanikyam temple. Therefore, the person who got the job has been transferred and is not able to fulfill his duty. The Kerala Rationalist Group has organized a dharna in front of the temple itself against this untouchable practice that is happening in Kerala even in this modern era.
