Brightline Construction at Crane Creek Bridge - August 21, 2021 - Melbourne, FL
A lot has changed since the last time I videoed at Crane Creek bridge. There are now two cranes at the site, and the new train bridge is partially completed. One crane is on the temporary construction bridge, and the other is on Depot Dr and Melbourne Ave. The road is closed under the bridge and along the waterfront for the construction work. The new train bridge is being built to support the Brightline high speed rail line from Miami to Orlando, although the maximum speed on this section of track will likely be only 80 mph since it is through a city with many road crossings. The north-south section of track makes use of the existing Florida East Coast (FEC) rail line.
