Join me for a bumper hour-long tour of Britain's greatest seaside city: Brighton! Located on a huge stretch of pebbles on England's south coast, Brighton has gone from small fishing village to modern-day metropolis on the back of a huge tourist boom in the Regency and Victorian eras, an industry that it still thrives in to this day! On our walk around Brighton, we pass a number of interesting landmarks, including Brighton Palace Pier, Brighton Beach, the Royal Albion Hotel, the Queens Hotel, Quadrophenia Alley, Brighton Town Hall, The Lanes, Brighton Pavilion, Brighton Dome, North Laine, Komedia Brighton, Kensington Gardens, Sydney Street, Brighton Railway Station, former Hanover Chapel Burial Gardens, St. Nicholas' Church, Churchill Square, Brighton Jubilee Clock Tower, St. Paul's Church, Brighton Promenade, the English Channel, Grand Brighton Hotel, Brighton Metropole Hotel, i360 Observation Tower, Regency Square, and the remains of the West Pier. Thank you so much to the following sites for their help in my research of Brighton: https://www.mybrightonandhove.org.uk/ http://www.mhms.org.uk/ https://www.britannica.com/place/Brighton-England http://www.arthurlloyd.co.uk/Brighton/PalacePier.htm https://londonist.com/2016/08/london-versus-brighton https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-27391179 https://goldarts.co.uk/blogs/news/the-history-of-the-brighton-lanes https://www.greatbritishlife.co.uk/people/the-lanes-historic-heart-of-brighton-7090856 https://brightondome.org/about/history_heritage/cavalry_barracks_to_concert_hall/ https://brightondome.org/your_visit/venues/corn_exchange/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKBKpV_xtYw https://www.komedia.co.uk/history https://www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/sites/default/files/migrated/article/inline/HISTORICAL%20DEVELOPMENT%20OF%20THE%20NORTH%20LAINE%20AREA.pdf https://www.britishempire.me.uk/northlaine.html https://globetrottergirls.com/visit-brighton-what-makes-brighton-so-appealing/#Brighton_is_quirky https://theculturetrip.com/europe/united-kingdom/england/articles/why-is-brighton-the-gay-capital-of-the-uk/ https://www.standard.co.uk/hp/front/brighton-is-gay-capital-7298902.html https://jindesigns.com/blogs/latest-news/the-story-behind-hove-actually https://regencysociety.org/the-hanover-chapel-and-burial-ground/ https://www.theargus.co.uk/news/4397507.whats-up-with-the-golden-ball-in-brighton-clock-tower/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rue8hHrXCcM http://volkselectricrailway.co.uk/ http://www.saintpaulschurch.org.uk/?page_id=497 http://www.northlainehistory.me.uk/military1.html https://www.grandbrighton.co.uk/about-us https://thespaces.com/worlds-first-vertical-pier-opens-public-brighton-week/ https://www.ecenglish.com/en/school-locations/blog/ec/learn-english-in-brighton/2019/08/26/why-isnt-brighton-beach-sandy 0:00 Brighton Palace Pier 0:54 Madeira Drive 1:18 Brighton Palace Pier 2:24 Brighton Beach & Seafront 2:37 Brighton Palace Pier 3:30 Royal Albion Hotel 3:58 Brighton Beach 5:11 Brighton Promenade 6:47 Queens Hotel 7:03 East Street 7:56 Quadrophenia Alley 8:12 East Street 8:49 Brighton Town Hall 9:39 Brighton Place 10:10 The Pump House Pub 10:32 Market Street 10:54 Brighton Place 11:12 The Lanes 13:39 Alice Mural 13:50 The Lanes 14:16 North Street 14:47 Chapel Royal 15:08 North Street 16:04 East Street 16:20 North Street 16:36 Pavilion Buildings 17:03 India Gate 17:29 Brighton Pavilion 18:56 Pavilion Gardens 20:56 North Gate 22:04 Church Street 22:15 Brighton Dome 23:36 Church Street 24:44 Gardner Street 25:26 Komedia Brighton 25:40 Gardner Street 26:29 North Road 27:08 North Laine 27:15 Kensington Gardens 29:26 Gloucester Road 29:43 Sydney Street 31:12 Gloucester Road 34:32 Queen's Road 35:39 Brighton Railway Station 36:30 Queen's Road 40:17 Brighthelm Gardens (former burial ground) 40:40 Queen's Road 40:46 Church Street 42:21 St. Nicholas' Church 43:39 St. Nicholas' Churchyard 44:31 Dyke Road 45:17 Churchill Square 45:37 Jubilee Clock Tower 46:29 West Street 48:22 St. Paul's Church 48:57 West Street 50:16 King's Road 50:52 Brighton Beach 51:44 Brighton Grand Hotel 53:38 i360 Observation Tower 54:25 Brighton Beach 54:51 Brighton Metropole 55:09 i360 Observation Tower 55:30 Brighton Beach 56:03 King's Road 56:24 Regency Square 56:50 i360 Observation Tower 57:07 King's Road 57:23 Brighton Beach 58:37 Remains of West Pier 58:48 Thank you for watching!
