Loft MdP is a renovation project by FFWD Arquitectes that transforms an old carpenter’s workshop in Poble Sec, Barcelona, into a modern and comfortable living space. By preserving original elements such as brick walls and the roof, the project introduces a new floor that unifies the space and resolves height differences between different areas. Furniture like the sofa, kitchen tables, and bathroom sinks are integrated with the floor using brick and concrete, creating an industrial aesthetic that complements the building’s original character. Its flexible layout allows the home to function as both a primary residence and an independent apartment for guests or as a private studio for the owner. Covering an area of 122 square meters, Loft MdP demonstrates how old spaces can be revitalized through smart design, ample natural lighting, and thoughtful material selection.
