This is the first in a new series of videos all about Honky Tonk Must-haves LP's. Wether you collect Records, CDs, or just add albums on your phone these are some classics that every classic country fan should hear.
The first record in the series is Roger Miller's 1970 A Trip in the Country on Mercury Records. Jerry Kennedy is producing an all-star cast of Nashville A-team players along with Buddy Emmons at the steel guitar. Roger honestly didn't make very many honkytonk sounding records, and this is the only one that I'm aware of. In the last 20 years the word has started to spread amongst steel players, musicians and fans of real country that this is THE Roger Miller album to get your hands on. Let's a take a look at it here and preview a few of the tracks too.
