These boards were in the ground receiving water and sun for years and the fact that there is wood left intact despite the conditions they were in tells me that there is good wood behind the dirt, in the end, I managed to get many pieces, but I had to add three of my own because some parts were either knots or rotten.
The furniture is Japanese style with tricky joinery, this is one of the best and most complex projects that I have done with 15 joints and 32 pieces, it took me approximately 100 hours of work.
The joints I made are mortise and tenon, tusk mortise and tenon, dovetail and finally a half-lap joint.
