Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Episode Three in my series of building a modular model railway is all about aligning the track and the baseboards!

Hello everyone, Christmas is rapidly approaching and I wanted to make sure I squeezed in one more update on my 00 gauge modular model railway before the end of the year, especially as I know a lot of you have been waiting for this one! As I said at the end of the last episode, this video is all about how I’m aligning my track and baseboards using a few very simple techniques.

It’s fair to say Freemo has been a big inspiration to me in terms of building my own modular model railway but there was a couple of reasons as to why I didn’t just build my layout to the Freemo standards. I go into why that is a little bit in the video but you’ll also see how I got around some of the problems I faced using alignment dowels and my custom designed endplates that go on the ends of every module. I’m quite proud of these considering I’ve never designed something like this before - the fact that they work exactly as expected is even better.

You’ll also see in this video that I’ve started work on my third module, dubbed the “bufferstop board”, which when finished will complete phase one of my modular model railway build. Don’t worry, you haven’t missed anything there, I’ve been filming all my work on this module for it’s own video plus a very special tutorial series, both of which will hopefully premiere in the New Year.

In the meantime though, I do hope you enjoy the latest video in my modular model railway series.
