In this two video series I'm building a shaker inspired dresser. The design was actually inspired by a piece in Lonn Taylor's book, "Texas Cabinet Makers". It features four drawers with hand cut dovetails. The drawer boxes were built from quarter-sawn white oak and for the interior components of the dresser I used hard maple and poplar. The main wood species is escarpment cherry, which is a specie of American Black Cherry. Escarpment cherry grows exclusively in the Texas Hillcountry and has a very unique grain color.
