We start to take on building an ER-40 collet chuck for a 9" Southbend lathe out of a hunk of 1144 Stress proof steel. In this episode we show the differences between the ER style collets and the 3C collets the Southbend uses and a few of the benefits and we start the boring on the chuck in preperation to cut the spindle threads Also trying out some picture in picture camera stuff so let me know what you think.
