Sometimes I have a big plan. Sometimes I have no plan. Any plans are just in my head since I’m no good at sketching them out on paper first. I love French knots and normally start with masses and masses French knots before I sculpt them into a Wildscape. This time I decided to start with bullion knots. A lot of people think it looks like a mass of worms. I’m OK with that. I can still remember before we had worms in our dead dirt in the garden so worms mean happy soil. Soil means happy Susan. This time I could see the beginnings of bark of a decaying tree in the forest in bullions. I may be the only one that can see them and that’s OK. I am stitching with a beautiful fingering yarn that is made of Merino wool, yak, and silk. it slides like butter through the needle. Almost done with the bullion knots. When I’m finished, I will have an entire skein of yarn. And then it will be time to add the green and rock and who knows what else.
