#buxatigerreserve #wbtourism #dooarstour #jayantitour Buxa is one of the largest forest in Dooars where natural forest covers more area than plantation. There are more than 16 ranges present in the Forest area. Spread across 760 square kilometres, this forest contains many bird species, animals and butterflies. Jayanti is one of the range in Buxa. Jayanti range is spread on the banks of Jayanti River. The river is also the border between India and Bhutan. On monsoon season, I planned to visit the national park. I made a quick tour plan for 2 nights and 3 days. Alipurduar is the gateway to Buxa National Park. Day 1: Upon reaching Buxa in the morning, we immediately boarded the Safari Vehicle to explore the Jayanti Range. After a 2 hours Safari, we went to visit Chhota Mahakal and then in the afternoon, we went for another safari in the Hatipota Range. All our safaris are covered in this video. Sightseeing: The entry to Buxa is full of trees. The journey itself is awesome. Apart from the Safari, the visit to Chhota Mahakal is quite adventurous. I tried to cover the whole beauty of the region from a first person view. I think you will enjoy that too. Where to stay: There are many homestays near to Santalabari area. That part is a hilly terrain. You can stay there too. We chose to stay near the Jayanti range. Our homestay was Dooars Prakriti. I booked a family room where 4 persons can be easily accommodated. Tariff 3000/- per night. Food charges extra. The homestay is just beside the fencing of Jayanti range. The riverbed is also near to forest. In the evening you can take a walk to the riverbed. Birds are regular visitors in this region. You can spot blue throated barbet, red breasted parakeets and hornbills here. Best Time: The best time to visit Buxa is March-April. If you are lucky, then you can spot Gaurs, Elephants, Leopard, Barking Deers etc. Charges: Forest entry fee is Rs 150 per person. Valid throughout the day. Road charges is Rs 480/-. This is also valid for a day. You can book your entry at Buxa national park entry point.
