Yoel Romero of Cuba wrestles Cael Sanderson during the Titan Games February 14, 2003 at the Event Center at San Jose State University in San Jose, California. Cael Sanderson's 159-0 record in college meant very little to Yoel Romero in their 185-pound freestyle wrestling match Friday night as the Cuban world champion eked out a 3-2 victory in overtime in the featured bout of the Titan Games. Sanderson led 2-1 after two periods. Lacking the three points required to close out a match, the contestants went into overtime. Romero scored off the clinch to start the OT period and won it with a takedown at the end as he secured Sanderson's legs and waist on the move. "Si," Romero said when asked if he was aware Sanderson was undefeated at Iowa State. "He has a lot of desire to win. I think that's the main thing to be an athlete." "This is preparation for the Olympics," he said. "That's the guy I'll have to beat for the gold medal. I'll have to learn from this. It's a good match for me to get. That's why I came. I'll have to wrestle smarter against him next time."
