CAL PARK CROSSING BURNHAM, IL EARLY MAY 1980 pt2. CR, CHESSIE, IHB, MILWAUKEE ROAD, VINTAGE FREIGHT
Second half of Cal Park early May 1980 video as evening starts to set in. The Milwaukee train was heading east on the IHB and would make a turn south just past Gibson Yard in Hammond and head to Louisville. Great vintage rolling stock including CAT road graders and tractors on flatcars. The bottle train is loaded and switches from the x-PRR Bernice Cutoff to the IHB. A couple hundred yards down from here it unhooks the power and pulls around his train and hooks back on for the westbound journey to Dolton Jct. and up to the Interlake Steel open hearth in Riverdale, IL. Also note a very RARE tagged boxcar on a westbound Conrail! Tagged cars were almost no existent in 1980 except by railfans or RR employees that used chalk instead of spray paint.
