This middle school math video shows how to calculate the volume of a cone when the slant height is known rather than its actual height. The formula for the volume of a cone requires the actual height, not the slant height. So this video shows how to use the Pythagorean Theorem first to find the actual height, and then how to use that height in the volume formula.
