Video Not Working? Fix It Now

In this video, with the help of a new special guest star, I explain the technique of masking data. This allows us to compare two gridded netcdf or grib fields together, or compare a field to a threshold. In this way you can calculate the frequency of threshold exceedance, which allows you to make calculation in a data set as in the following examples:
- Number of freezing events in a period
- Number of events of precipitation extremes
- Heatwave statistics
- Number of rainy days days i.e. with rainfall greater than 0.1 mm
and so on... the masking technique is extremely powerful when combined with other CDO commands.

I hope you enjoy the video, and especially the little surprise at the end ;-)
