Today's plan is to dig into my 1959 Cincinnati HydraShift Engine Lathe that I rescued a few years back! This lathe was shoved into the back corner of a closed down machine shop and hasn't operated in DECADES. Most likely because its broken! NO ONE knew what was wrong with it, NO ONE tried to figure it out, and NO ONE wanted it.... and at first, that included me! I was told how "hard" these lathes can be to work on and that parts are VERY hard to come by and INCREDIBLY expensive if you CAN find them, so this one was a bit of a gamble! Today I'll show you where this machine was rescued from, and then we'll dive into it's KNOWN problems and hopefully figure out additional issues along the way! First up is cleaning the OLD beast, and WHO knows, MAYBE just MAYBE we've found a diamond in the rough here! Join me, and we'll find out together whether or not I made a good purchase with this Old Engine Lathe! Either way, it should be a good time! Sit Back, Relax, and let me do ALL the heavy lifting as we attempt to save this old lathe from the crusher! ~ Salvage Workshop Playlists YOU might ENJOY: Rescuing OLD Iron - The Series - Saving Old Machines from being DESTROYED! https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYawuZlnembuBsCjpHuNshvv6xgTj_mJ7 Saving & Repairing Old Equipment - https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYawuZlnembv8NPpUqTUOJNzy6V7QJId0 Gehl 5625sx Skid Steer FULL Playlist: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYawuZlnembt9CQwS9kAolTd7SRzkrY6Q "Old Red" - 1956 Caterpillar 955 Tracxcavator - https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYawuZlnembvbs8xSQBFADHZkvCQIlG01 Rescuing OLD Iron The Series - https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYawuZlnembuBsCjpHuNshvv6xgTj_mJ7 Restoring & SAVING an OLD Workshop - "The Cave" - https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYawuZlnembvRQCUv513QT3d2EyZpDXb6 ~ Products That I Truly BELIEVE in: BlakLader Workwear - Do you want incredible work pants?
