Hello all! This is my most ambitious video yet - a full challenge run of Dragon Age: Origins which involves using gear obtained from NPCs only. This took me a very long time to make (23 hours of playtime and thus footage to wade through, because I didn't think to only record the relevant parts), but I'm super proud of being able to finish playing through the challenge as well as edit this behemoth of a video. I had lots of fun doing this challenge run, so I hope you enjoy it so that I have a reason to put myself through more such challenges :D
Here are the rules in case you're interested in trying out this challenge for yourself (I also go through them in the video):
My Warden can only use items they receive from NPCs. This generally means either items that are directly given to me by an NPC (as a quest reward, trade, bribe, being intimidated or persuaded into giving it to me); items from containers that I receive a key for from an NPC. Or finally, items from places or containers that NPCs expressly give me permission to loot.
I am not allowed to purchase anything from merchants. Though selling unwanted items is fine, since there are a few situations in which having gold can be useful to me in my interactions with various characters.
I am not allowed to loot any gear or consumables from enemies or non-applicable containers. An exception to this are quest items (because they are needed to progress various main quests, as well as side quests) and in a few special cases companion gifts because I want to at least be somewhat nice to my companions.
I am not fully submitting the companions to the Warden’s craziness, so that means they get to keep their starting gear. The Warden can’t use companion gear, but companions can trade gear amongst themselves, and of course I can also upgrade their gear with appropriate items I receive from NPCs.
