Canyonlands National Park Needles District - Moab's less crowded part of CL NP- Hike to Native Ruin
Canyonlands is Utah's biggest park and has 3 separate districts that are not connected by roads. the Island in the Sky is the closest to Moab Utah and it is by far the most visited and crowded.
after several trips to Moab I finally made it down to the Needles District.
It has a dramatically different landscape. Driving though it is a nice as driving through Arches but in a very different way. On this trip we hike to a Native American grain storage structure under sandstone alcove.
Then we hike on the Pothole trail to learn about dormant life in dry sandstone potholes that comes to life when it rains.
