A capacitor consists of two conducting plates separated by an insulator or dielectric. When a voltage source is applied across a capacitor, charges start to store in the plates of capacitor, which is known as Capacitor charging. If we remove the voltage source and make a conductive path with the capacitor, then the stored charges will start to flow through the conductive path. In a way, charges will become neutral at last and this phenomenon is known as Capacitor discharging. Capacitance is the main properties of a capacitor which indicate the ability to store charge. It depends on three factors i.e, area of each plate of the capacitor, permittivity of the dielectric material and distance between two plates.
