Bill of lading is an old shipping term for what’s said on land is a receipt. It confirms that the carrier has accepted and delivered goods for shipment. It shows who is in actual ownership of the freight/cargo.

What is a delivery order? Document that indicates to whom goods and items are to be delivered to. A signed delivery order in many situations is proof of delivery – Signature from the carrier and the person who is in receipt.
