Apr 2025 @InMyPurview In this episode I make a funny caricature rabbit in an egg.
This carving was made out of a basswood 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" x 4" using an OCC Tool 1 3/4" roughing blade. Use any blade that you have handy as the maker and the type is not important. No measurements are important either. Caricature carving or drawing is just showing the semblance of what you are trying to convey with no strict realism.
Any carving can be made out of any wood also. Some species of wood are easier to carve into, but imagination and patience is really all you need. You can make the rabbit as cartoonish or real as you choose to. Now go have a carve and take enjoyment from it.
