This video is an ode to the Glacier Peak volcano, the Great Parent. Called Takobia/Dagobe/Dakobed in native tongues, meaning the Mother of Mountains. Or perhaps more fitting, the Mother of the North Cascades. Washington's hidden 5th volcano features epic remoteness, stunning beauty, supreme isolation, and a spiritual location in the heart of the North Cascades. Glacier Peak is certainly my favorite mountain.
On June 21, 2024, three of us headed into the Glacier Peak Wilderness to climb Glacier Peak via the standard route over 3 days. North Fork Sauk River Trail to White Pass to the White Chuck Glacier Basin to Glacier Gap to the Gerdine & Cool Glaciers. Apologies for accidentally creating a mini-documentary here in length, but for my personal self, I needed to convey the grandness of the adventure (36 miles, 10,000 ft vert), capture the goofy moments, & do justice to my favorite mountain.
