Overview Episode 3: THUNDER BAY & NIPPIGON RIVER: Trout and Salmon Matt and Babs continue down the Trans Canada Highway and their journey takes them through Thunder Bay. The city is at the head of mighty Lake Superior and an old French fur trading post providing a vital link to the Great Lakes and St Lawrence River. It’s been a big year for the Nipigon community which has celebrated 100 years of holding the world record for Brook Trout with a festival in the town. The 14.5lb fish taken in 1915 is one of the most iconic specimens in world freshwater sport fishing. Matt and Babs track down the local guides who tell the story of the fabled capture before trying to discover the exact spot where the fish was caught as they bid to catch another giant Brook Trout.
