Support me on Ko-Fi: https://ko-fi.com/mysteriousmagpie This abridged reading of Heller's famous novel came in 2011, to mark the book's fiftieth anniversary. By that time the book's title had long since been absorbed into popular culture, a shorthand expression for inescapable, fiendishly recursive bureaucracy. Weirdly, it's only just occurred to me writing this now that the perfect word to describe Heller's story is 'Kafkaesque', and it amazed me to think I'd never heard it put in a line of descent from Kafka's work. A quick google search shows that loads of people are saying it out there, but none of them had thought to mention it to me...
