In this video I am removing some more cattails out of my pond. Today I am using my LS tractor with a 3 Point Grade Blade mounted on the front. I am able to do this by using a Skid Steer Quick Attach adapter that connects to 3 point implements that don't require PTO power. This adapter has been a game changer for me. With the grade blade mounted on the front I am able to reach out further into the pond to get on the other side of the cattails and remove them. This gets them root and all. The grade I'm working on is a little steep and the ground is soft, which doesn't help. I imagine a flat pond edge and dryer conditions would really make this task efficient. Even though I was slipping in the mud, I was still able to remove the cattails I was having issues with. I got the landscape rake out and removed them by hand at the end.
