How to fix P0455 Code: Evaporative Emission Control System Large Leak Detected
A P0455 code is set when the computer (ECM/PCM) detects a leak in the EVAP system, and the system can't maintain pressure.
The EVAP system sends fuel vapors from the gas tank to the engine to be burnt away so they don't escape into the atmosphere.
Common causes of a P0455 code include a bad gas cap, system leak, bad purge valve, bad vent valve, pressure sensor, damaged hoses, and wiring issues.
Possible Causes of a P0455 Code:
Bad Gas Cap
Bad Purge Valve (Will usually give other code.)
Bad Vent Valve (Will usually give other code.)
Bad Charcoal Canister
EVAP Leak
Bad Pressure Sensor (Will usually give other code.)
Wiring Issue
