Celebrating & Remembering Buck O’Neil

We are thrilled to announce a star-studded live streamed conversation in remembrance and celebration of baseball legend, Buck O’Neil. Buck made Kansas City home after playing 11 years with the Kansas City Monarchs of the Negro Leagues, and was a driving force behind the creation of the Negro League Baseball Museum, which celebrated its 30th anniversary this past September. On what would have been Buck’s 109th Birthday, Friday, November 13th, 2020 - some of Buck’s closest friends including Award-Winning Documentarian Ken Burns, Legendary sportscaster Bob Costas, Negro League Baseball Museum President, Bob Kendrick and Senior Writer at The Athletic, Joe Posnanski. The timely conversation will take place not only on Buck’s Birthday, but in the 100th year anniversary of the Negro Leagues themselves founded in Kansas City, Missouri in the YMCA Paeso Building, that is forecasted to be the future home of the Buck O’Neil Research Center. Guests will share memories of Buck’s incredible spirit, character and legacy - from the insider perspective of those who knew him and his story, best. The event will be livestreamed on The Negro Leagues Facebook Page, and YouTube Channel on Friday, November 13th, 2020 at 1:30 PM EST/12:30 PM CT.
