summary of the video with the time for reference:
Cervical region bares less weight and highly mobile 1:12
1.Upper cervical region 1:42
-No disc
-Force transmitted through facet, lamina, pedicles etc
-Lamina of axis and C7 are heavily loaded with trabeculae
2.Lower Cervical columns 2:48
- 1 Anterocentral column -takes 2/3 of force
- 2 Posterolateral column-takes 1/3 of forces
-Compressive forces increse in extremes of flexion and extension
-extension is blocked by facet block and inter vertebral discs
-Flexion is blocked by posterior longitudinal ligament and inter spinous ligament
3.Muscles 5:45
Posteriorly trapezius causes extension
Anteriorly Rectus group does flexion
Laterally sternocleidomastoid does rotation and lateral flexion
