In this 2 part series, professional bonsai artist David Easterbrook is presented with an intriguing challenge.
A massive Ficus benjamina needs a restyling and a repotting but before jumping into this mission he needs to separate a different species of Ficus that was added on top of it.
In this masterclass David shows us how to plant a bonsai on a rock by selecting the right rock, protecting the roots, applying peat muck and adding layers of moss to maintain everything firmly in place.
The resulting Green Island Ficus bonsai on a rock is spectacular.
