In the 1980s, Phoolan Devi was a horror in Chambal. During that time, the Behmai massacre occurred where around two dozen people were lined up and shot. Brijlal, a 1977 batch Uttar Pradesh cadre officer of the Indian Police Service, witnessed these incidents. He served as the ADG (Law and Order) and later as the DGP when Mayawati was the Chief Minister. Currently, Brijlal is a Bharatiya Janata Party leader and a Rajya Sabha MP. He has also authored several books. Brijlal is our guest in this episode of Crime Branch.
