Come along with us as we experience Singapore Airlines on our journey from Sydney to Singapore and then on to Bangkok, and we’ll share our honest review with you.
We’ve always wanted to try Singapore Airlines.
Our flight was at 6:45 AM, but we took off at 6:38 AM and arrived early, which was exciting because it gave us more time to explore Changi Airport (less than 4 hours).
From Sydney, we flew on a Boeing 777-300ER, which I found a bit funny. I mentioned there were only a few passengers, but I didn’t realise that there were fewer seats in economy due to premium economy, business class, suites, and first class occupying more space. We were seated at the very back, and though I booked that seat, I totally forgot it was only a two-seater. It made me so happy to see it. You might think we were the last to eat, but no, the food came from the back, and they start serving from the very last seat, haha.
I like that the toilet at the back wasn’t very close to us, but there was a bit of space. I also liked that they had Wi-Fi, just enough to send messages. The entertainment was nothing special, just the usual old shows like on other airlines. The toilet even had a full-body mirror.
At Changi Airport, we only visited Terminal 3 (where we landed) and Terminal 2 (where we will depart from). You’ll need more than 3 hours if you want to fully explore the airport or even the city for free, as it's allowed (I think if your layover is more than 5.5 hours). I wanted to experience the slide, but it was under maintenance. I also wanted to see The Wonderfall, but I didn’t know it was in the departure hall. The staff told us we could go to the newly opened attraction that day called Dreamscape (so that’s what I put in the video at 21:48), but I later learned that it’s been open for a while, haha. Still, it was a nice way to pass the time because it was so relaxing.
On our way to Bangkok, we flew on a Boeing 787-10. This one was cleaner than our first aircraft. It had outlets for charging devices (though the first plane had USB ports), and a spot to place your phone in front of you. The Wi-Fi wasn’t working here, though it said I was connected. The windows had dimmable technology, using electrochromic gel that could be darkened or made transparent with the press of a button.
Overall, it’s been a great experience. We’re definitely more tired, but we were expecting this, lol.
