Chapala Jalisco 4K Walking Tour
Chapala is a must-see destination if you visit Guadalajara from anywhere in the world, here you will find the largest lake in Mexico.
The municipality of Chapala is located in the central area of the state of Jalisco, it has a total territorial extension of 385.58 square kilometers.
The Chapala boardwalk is right in front of the lake and is the perfect place to admire the grandeur of this space. There you will see couples strolling, children having fun and families spending time together. In addition, on the boardwalk you can find endless local crafts for sale and lots of delicious food. This Rinconcito de Amor, as its sign says, is something you cannot miss on your next trip to Guadalajara.
Chapala, like almost all places in Mexico, has a lot to offer in terms of flavors. You cannot leave without first trying a nieve de garrafa, a specialty in Lake Chapala, Jalisco. You will find them for sale all over the boardwalk and they are perfect for a hot day exploring Chapala. After trying one, you'll probably want to go back for another. Another typical snack from the area is charales, a type of fish that lives in the area. These are served in various ways, but the most famous is fried with salt, lemon, and chili. The fish are very small, but they are a very tasty and unique snack. If you're looking for something more complete, a molcajete de mariscos is the perfect option. This dish basically consists of a boiling molcajete with cheese and a mixture of seafood, beef, and vegetables. They are large enough to share among several people.
