Shen from the competition. This triggered more than 50K responses from Weibo (China’s Twitter)
asking for the return of Zhou Shen.
When the result was announced, ZS said: “Thank you very much for the appreciation and
approval from all the judges. This is already a big achievement for me. No matter who will be
leaving the stage, we all still belong to the Primary 2 class (Na Ying’s class, P2). It doesn’t really
matter who has beaten who or who has finally won. Thank you so much Ms Na Ying!”
At a backstage interview, ZS said “Whoever will stay on will have to bear the enormous pressure. Perhaps I am a little selfish and do not want to take on that kind of pressure.”
As a 21 year old, ZS saw things a little different and are more matured than many young people of his age.
ZS: “Competition of this nature is far too cruel. Our P2 class is such a precious group and it’s reduced down to 4 in one night!”
Commentator: “if you know ZS a little bit more, you will be able to appreciate his reply was not out of politeness but it’s genuinely from his heart. This shy timid young man started singing in front of his computer on the YY platform in 2010 when he was 17/18 years old, using the nickname Kabu. The Voice of China 2014 was his very first time singing in front of a real public audience. He has always said it’s through singing that he has found warmth in his life.”
Commentator: “In the P2 class, ZS is seen as a cheerful, confident and happy young man. No one finds his voice weird or would laugh at his look. Everyone wants to be his friend. “
Ms Chen Bing: “ZS is our lucky star. I want to have his face printed on our T shirts.”
Ms Eve Ai: “When you see ZS, I can’t help smiling. He’s like his songs, infectiously positive. “
Commentator: “ZS admitted that from the Voice of China, he reaped the rewards of confidence, friendship and also received great training in singing from the judges.”
ZS: “The kind of warmth I received from the P2 class is something I have never experienced before. This is especially for their respect of my voice. For many people, my voice sounds weird but in P2 class, everyone likes it. In fact, everyone seems to quite like me. So I think they have helped me to become more cheerful, and more confident. I am very thankful to this special group of friends. I now have the courage to talk to strangers. I want to tell them to try their very best! I will support you. You represent our P2 class!”
