Reading & Northern's frac sand business is going strong again! Some cars have been delivered from Reading to Pittston on recent NRFFs, but on April 15, 2025 the first unit train of the year brought 60 loaded 2-bay hoppers north. Running as the NRPI, Reading & Northern's Andy Muller, Jr. was at the throttle with Tyler Glass conducting. A few others were riding in the cab, and I had the opportunity to chase them north before taxiing one of them back to Port Clinton afterwards. Although I didn't do a southbound chase per se, I did catch the PINR's departure from Pittston, glimpsed them from afar crossing Oak Street, and got back to Port Clinton in time to catch their passage through R&N's headquarters and rail yard. I want to give a very special thank you to my friends Mike Stanislaw @smike01 and Isaiah Barr @AnthraciteRailfan for contributing some clips to this video.
