Bases are essential for building wargames terrain, dioramas or any other miniature or model building projects. The problem is, specialty materials for building sturdy and durable bases can cost more than the models themselves.... But there is a solution us cardboard! Cardboard is frequently considered a poor option for basing. Sure it is free, but most miniature builders think it is not sturdy enough. But it is!
