After an attempt to get a mascot with a mouse in the seventies, the well-known cheese-flavored snack brand Cheetos in the second half of the eighties tried again, but this time with a feline. That's when Brad Morgan came up with the idea to create Chester. A Cheetah with an obsession with said snack. Appearing in a few commercials until finally earning the achievement of gaining public acceptance, and well... the rest is history.
This video recaps several of the character's commercials from its inception (animated initially by the late Richard Williams) until the mid-nineties. Variants around the world were also included, among the different local divisions of Frito-Lay, so there is almost everything.
Fun fact, the idea for this video came when I was eating 2 whole bags of Cheetos (both Mexican and American)... with a stomach-ache in the process... ...It's not easy being cheesy.
