I travel overnight to visit a Karen Hilltribe Village, deep in the jungles of Northern Thailand resting in Doi Inthanon National Park. Guided by a local from Ethnic Hill Tribe EcoTrails I spend the night in Khun Poy village a few hours from Chiang Mai. On the first day, we hiked through the dense rainforest and stunning rice fields. With breaks at waterfalls and food foraged from the forest around us, this was one of the best hikes I've done in my entire life.
Day two started with coffee and breakfast after which we started our hike back. Once again the day was filled with some of the most amazing scenery I've seen here in Thailand. My guide was very knowledgeable and taught me many things about the forest and the way of life in the Karen Villages. Then after wrapping up the day we headed back to Chiang Mai to end the trip.
A big thanks to Ethnic Hilltribe Eco Trails for making this a hike I'll never forget. And thank you Sak for being such an amazing guide!
