Chichibu YoMatsuri Kabuki- Shinrei Yaguchi no Watashi 秩父夜祭

Chichibu Yo-Matsuri is a night festival in December but during day on the 3rd local performing groups put on kabuki plays at Chichibu Shrine. This is a production of Shinrei Yaguchi no Watashi a play originally written for bunraku (puppet play) in 1770 by Hiraga Gennai and later staged as kabuki in 1794.

The play is set during the Two Courts Era of the 14th Century. The performance is Act II Scene II Nitta Yaka which is a rare sight as it's not part of the regular kabuki repertoire.
