China's HUGE PLAN For COMAC C939 Will Change All Aviation! Here's Why
China has just unveiled the preliminary design for its massive aircraft, named C939, which is expected to fly in the not-too-distant future.
Mayur Patel, Asia regional director for industry data platform OAG Aviation, said the C939 is designed as a wide-body, twin-engine jet similar to the Boeing Triple 7, designed to compete with the best-selling twin-engine wide-body of all time and Airbus’s popular wide-body A350. This is the latest in a line of domestically designed aircraft, following the ARJ 21 (Advanced Regional Jet), which has carried over 10 million passengers since 2016, and the C919 narrow-body, currently operating three routes for China Eastern.
So, in competition, how does the C939 compare to its rivals?
The answer is surprisingly good.

First, this wide-body airplane will have a capacity of 400 seats, surpassing the Boeing Triple 7 with only 301 to 368 passengers, although its operating range is smaller than the Boeing wide-body best-selling aircraft which has a range of 9,700 to 15,840kilometers, which is just 13,000 kilometers. Thanks to this excellent capacity, when compared with its wide-body competitor Airbus, the C939 is also not significantly different from the A350 900 variant, although its range is inferior to the famous aircraft from Europe. With its advanced features and impressive specifications, it is making Boeing and Airbus wary. In addition, this Made in China wide-body aircraft has lower production costs and a strong competitive pricing strategy, which also makes it a formidable competitor in the market.
