To organize chip removal in a small-sized carpentry workshop, you need to solve the issues: purchase a chip suction, make its possible modifications, organize pipelines with a discharge of static electricity, consider options for connecting machines.
Even a novice carpenter, sooner or later, when working with a power tool and machine tools, begins to think about two things: chip removal in the workshop and the removal of chips from the cutting tool and workpiece during work.
And he builds his chip removal system, as a rule, according to the classical scheme, consisting of three elements:
- chip suction (or vacuum cleaner) complete with a container for collecting sawdust
- piping system
- elements of supplying channels to terminal devices - generators of shavings and sawdust: jointer, thicknessing machine, sawing machine.
The power unit of the system is a JET DC-1200 chip suction unit, to which a 2 µm filter was additionally purchased. The gate valves are made by ourselves.
