Chord tone soloing is also known as playing the changes. It is when you target the notes within a chord when it is played. So if a Bm is played, you can hit a B note; if an A note is played, then you can play an A note, and so on. Soloing over chords will take you from a beginner solo player to the next level. In this video, I will show you exactly what chord tone solo is and how to do it. Then, I will train you on how to target the ones of each chord. You first practice solo on the 1st string, then the 2nd, then the 3rd, and so on. Follow the steps, and you will learn how to do chord tone soloing!
