Hey everyone! Here's the next episode of Chordplay with The Chords Of Tygers Of Pan Tang. I'm sure everyone reading this felt the same way I did when the news broke yesterday about John Sykes passing away. I was sad about it and sat around playing guitar and his music into the wee-hours of the night. I then realized/remembered that I've had a Tygers of Pan Tang Chordplay lesson sitting on the back-burner for a few years. To make a long story short, I decided to create this lesson today to celebrate John's legacy, history, and importance in music and the guitar - so let's dive in!
This lesson is a direct tribute to John Sykes, so while Tygers have been active since 1978 and have released 13 albums with various personnel over the years, we're only hitting music from Tygers two releases that feature John Sykes on guitar - 1981's legendary hard rock double-team of albums Spellbound and Crazy Nights.
The chord-based and rhythm guitar examples in this lesson include sections from songs such as Gangland, Take It, Don't Stop By, Hellbound, Lonely Man, Never Satisfied, Mirror, and much more!
Needless to say, if you're a fan of the late-great John Sykes, a Tygers Of Pan Tang fan, a player looking for some kick-ass NWOBHM riffs/chord parts, or maybe you're just curious what all the fuss is about - this lesson is totally for you! Give this episode a view, leave some comments/feedback, and please subscribe to Late Night Lessons - THANK YOU!
