Here's the next episode of Chordplay with The Chords of Yngwie Malmsteen.
The recent Breaking Chords episode was well-received and it sounded like it helped several of you with some chord/arpeggio breakthroughs, so I figured taking a look at Yngwie's chord-based ideas/progressions would be a good thing to target next, especially while your fingers are warmed-up and these ideas are already bouncing around in your head.
This lesson tackles several of Yngwie's classic rhythm parts and features a number of things that should help you see how you can target specific single notes and chords which will signal or imply specific tonalities and/or modal sounds - such as Harmonic Minor or Phrygian (for example).
The examples presented here come from classic albums such as Rising Force, Marching Out, Trilogy, and Odyssey - and there's plenty here to keep your fingers busy when you tackle this lesson, featuring some fan-favorites such as 'Magic Mirror,' 'Little Savage,' 'Dreaming (Tell Me),' and much more!
Good luck with this one, leave some comments and feedback, and please subscribe to Late Night Lessons - THANK YOU!
