In this CarGurus UK video, Chris Knapman explains how the C5 X can trace its roots all the way back to the BX, via the C5 and Xantia. All of these cars sit within what its known as the D-segment of large family cars, the popularity of which has suffered as a result rising demand for SUVs. As such, the C5 X might just be Citroen's last roll of the dice for a big, plush executive car of this type, and thus the end of an era for Citroen.
In this video Chris finds out how the BX's clever hydropneumatic suspension gives the car a magic carpet ride (as well as a magic ride-height trick), and explores how the performance of the BX GT's 1.9-litre engine makes it genuinely fun to drive. Next up he takes the C5 X plug-in hybrid for a spin to see if this brand new model can match the BX for comfort and quirkiness.
