The Chairman's Train around Carlisle

Chairman of Locomotive services Group, Jeremy Hoskings hosted a party on his annual summer train. Named The Chairman's Train, it ran around to Cornwall, North Wales and the Western Highlands of Scotland using a variety of motive power. I captured it around Carlisle, and Haltwhistle on Sunday 20 April and at Ribblehead on Wednesday 23 April.
The train also used Class 121 'bubble car' 55022 Flora on the West Highland Extension line. It had run to Carlisle under its own power but was to be hauled north and later back to Carlisle by a Class 47. I captured it at Wetheral on 20th and at Carlisle's Citadel Station on 23rd. Soon after seeing that traction move at Wetheral, apparently the Class 47 developed a fault somewhere east of Haltwhistle, This train only got to Berwick on its original schedule, being over two and a half hours late at some points. It must have been fixed as it would get to Dumbarton Central by late evening.
The northbound trains ran from Carlisle via the Tyne Valley and Newcastle since the West Coast Main Line was closed north of Carlisle for planned engineering work.
