Want to know how the ignition system works on your classic mini? check out this video.
I discuss two different types of ignition timing lights, the conventional timing light vs a dial back timing light, how they work, and how to connect one to your mini.
This is part 2 of the ignition timing series.
For Part 1 go here: https://youtu.be/bPkvIvrOgtI
Yes, I know I said that I was going to get into checking and measuring advance curves in this episode, but it got too long and is best separated into a third part.
So, part three will be on checking idle timing and plotting out advance curves.
I also want to state that I am not in any way sponsored by Innova.
The Classic Mini Survival guide is a series of short videos where I will be breaking down various skills and tasks required to keep your classic mini in top running condition.
As I work on minis, I am constantly finding problems with general maintenance items such as spark plugs, valve gaps, ignition timing, etc...
I see these as tasks which any owner is capable of doing. My goal is to help those interested in doing the work themselves. The key is to do it correctly!
My goal with this series is to educate and inform the Mini community so that we keep more of these cars on the road. The better they run, the more they get used and appreciated by others.
If you have a suggestion for a topic, let me know in the comments below each video.
