Cleetus McFarland Knew The Risks To Fly Into Western NC After The Hurricane -- And He'd Do It Again

Video Not Working? Fix It Now

In September of 2024, Hurricane Helene made its way north and hammered the mountain areas of Western North Carolina with wind and rain. Asheville and its surrounding towns were left in disrepair after rising waters left many people missing and many more without homes. Immediately people jumped into action, gathering supplies, running rescue missions, and trying to help establish contact with those who were left off the grid. Cleetus McFarland was one of the volunteers who were able to fly in with their helicopters and provide evacuation, relief, and aid to those in need. While there were many happy stories that resulted from Cleetus's efforts, there were some sad ones as well. In this video, Cleetus tells Dale Earnhardt Jr. about meeting up with former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, their flights into the affected areas, and stories of those they came in contact with. It's a humbling story from a humble man who just wanted to make a difference – and we're certain that he did.
